Yes, I love food. I love to bake, cook and try new things! I love taking pictures of what I make and posting them to Facebook or Instagram, buuuut I feel like I am annoying all my friends and followers so I decided to make a blog, where I can post pictures of anything and everything to my heart's content without bugging anyone. So here we go!
What I made today: I made an omelet for breakfast, a spinach Parmesan one with whole wheat toast and some yogurt and it was SO good! Sadly, I did not take a picture of it. Oh well.
For dinner I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich, but it wasn't your average grilled cheese. It was a spinach, avocado, feta and mozzarella grilled cheese on multigrain bread. It was to DIE for!! All I did was get my bread, lay down my slices of avocado, mozzarella, feta, and top with spinach and other piece of bread. The recipe I found called for a pesto sauce but I don't really like pesto so I skipped it and just used a little mayo to fry it up. It was delicious. :) Check it out!
Then for dessert, I made a recipe I found on
Pinterest. Can I just say that Pinterest is fantastic?! They are oatmeal lemon creme bars, and they are freaking good and incredibly easy to make.
Here is the link to the recipe. They are gooey and tasty and so so good. Check them out:
...Right?! Mmm.
Here are some things that I have made in the past couple weeks. The first is a graham cupcake with key lime cream cheese frosting. I was a little hesitant at first to try this recipe (#32)
but they turned out really well. The key lime frosting was a little tart but the sprinkled graham cracker crumbs on the top really helped cut that. Yum!
The next cupcake I tried didn't turn out as well; I personally did not love them but they were good. They were
sour cream raspberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (#25). I should have cooked them a bit longer, and the raspberries in the batter made the cake a little soggy. I don't know. They were ok. :)
I also made a
lemon blueberry yogurt loaf, which was divine. (Please just keep in mind that I have no life.) It was fun to make, too! I sort of didn't have any toothpicks that day, so I had to use a cooking thermometer to poke holes in the bread so I could soak it in the lemon glaze. That is why there are holes in my cake, in case you were wondering.
These next two are probably my favorite out of anything so far. My family loved these the best as well. The first was a
peanut butter fudge brownie trifle. ...Yeah. Cannot go wrong! It was a process to make but not difficult. This could feed at least 20 people, which I quickly realized! But it was SO GOOD!!! Words cannot describe....If you love peanut butter and chocolate, this is for you. It has a layer of brownie, then a peanut butter cream, then chocolate pudding, then homemade whipped cream, chopped up Reese's peanut butter cups, then brownies again...and so on and so forth.
I made a
strawberry cream pie that I loved just as much as the trifle. It was very easy to make and very very delicious. Seriously.
I made a
buttermilk blueberry breakfast cake one day! It turned out well too :) I think I almost prefer cooking with frozen blueberries (thawed) always because they usually have a better flavor anyway and they don't rupture and explode all over everything when you mix them into the batter.
Welp, I think that is all for now! Stay sweet.
